a retraction

this week i had every intention of getting back on the media diet. my main goal in doing so was to eliminate a few distractions & free up a bit of time in busy schedule. and then my schedule suddenly opened up. a lot. yesterday i was let go at work. because i now have an enormous amount of free time, i am going to indulge my inner media junkie.

and thankfully without worry. i hadn't told my employer, but i have accepted a position that is scheduled to start next month. and i think it may be all that i have been hoping for & then some. and so i am going to enjoy five whole weeks of nothing (& catching up in the large pile of projects i have amassed). it's going to be great.

a bright idea. revisited.

i am going on a diet. again. this summer i came across the media diet via designsponge. the diet entails avoiding all non-fiction media for 7 days; facebook, blogs, magazines, newspapers, etc. i was skeptical at first, but so eager to launch my creative endeavors, i gave it a whirl.

i was amazed at the outcome. i am feeling a bit bogged down these days and thinking a respite from my daily internet & news haunts may help clear my head & get me ready to go for the new year.
